This is a GUEST POST brought to you by Benny Hsu from GetBusyLivingBlog.com.
If you’re a regular to the Hustler’s Notebook you know part of JK’s brand is all about being a hustler. But does that mean exactly? To me, it’s about giving 110%. It’s taking action and going after what you want. It’s turning problems into opportunities. It’s doing the work and manufacturing your own luck. It’s all about action orientation.
Whether it’s landing a big client, writing your first novel, getting that promotion, landing a sponsorship, hitting website traffic goals, or running a marathon; we have some big hairy audacious goals.
Once you reach the pinnacle moment that calls for a big celebration, what’s next? Will you still be celebrating 2 months later?
John C. Maxwell, a leadership expert, speaker, and author, has a sign in his office that says “Yesterday ended last night.”
It’s so simple but carries an important message.
When he celebrates reaching major milestones, that sign helps keeps him grounded and in perspective. He knows how and when to end the celebration because the next milestone awaits.
A hustler never gets complacent. Hustlers constantly think about how to improve their situation while being prepared to divert obstacles along the way. It’s a matter of establishing and maintaining momentum, even in the attendance of uncontrollable variables.
Every day presents us new challenges and new opportunities. If we allow complacency to capture our day; then we’ll be stuck with the challenges and be dodged by the opportunities.
Never Be Satisfied
While writing this, I took a break and stumbled upon a 20 minute documentary on Youtube about the making of Beyonce’s fourth album. I’m glad I found it because it’s a fascinating look behind the scenes and it’s perfect for this message.
Behind her success is someone who constantly looks to grow, improve, and raise the bar to new levels with every performance.
According to Forbes, she made $35 million last year and has a net worth of $300 million. Add her husband Jay-Z’s fortune and they are filthy rich. She doesn’t need to work anymore, yet she still reaches higher.
What I learned from watching the video is that she’s a true hustler. She took a year off not only to relax but to recharge her creativity and prepare for her latest album. She wanted a different sound; A different feel. She wanted it to be better than anything she’s done before.
Her work ethic is insane. She expects those working for her to match her intensity. If she’s not sleeping, then nobody is sleeping.
She also said, “Sometimes we don’t reach for the stars. Sometimes we are satisfied with what people tell us what we’re supposed to be satisfied with and I’m just not going for it.”
Do you want to be satisfied or maintain the momentum?
A hustler doesn’t do it only for the money. A hustler does it for the challenge and growth. Growth equals change. Keep pushing yourself to look ahead. What’s next? What’s the next goal? How can you build on your success? How else can I make a difference?
The same goes with failure. If you had a bad day, you know you can start over the next day. Don’t hold on to whatever happened in the past. If you messed up, or failed, you have a new day to start over again. That’s the beauty of life.
Don’t be a One Hit Wonder
How you change and grow depends on your ability to let go of your successes or failures. Dwell too long on either and you’re going to see everyone pass you by. What got you to the top won’t keep you there if you stop taking action. There’s a requirement to keep moving in order to keep pace with progress.
No matter your success, big or small, you can’t live on it forever. You need to remember that life isn’t a moment frozen in time. You can’t freeze that big moment and expect it to always be like that.
Don’t be one of those music one-hit wonders from the 80‘s or 90‘s playing their only hit song at a bar of 10 drunken people twenty years from now cause that’s all they’ve got.
It’s a matter of adapting; It’s changing…It’s finding your next goal and achieving it.
Being a hustler means keeping perspective and keeping your eyes on the road ahead rather than in the rear view mirror.
So next time you celebrate a victory: celebrate it, forget about it, and wake up the next day ready to focus on the next goal. Keep the momentum moving!
A true hustler knows that yesterday ended last night.

DISCUSSION
Do you get caught up basking in success and living in “yesterday”? Or, are you able to transition from celebration-mode, back to being focused on the next goal? If so, please share some tips on how you’re able to make that transition and keep momentum working in your favor.

Beyonce is a great example of someone who works their (admittedly very fine) self off all the time.
Back in the day I used to read a ton of musicians magazines – I remember reading an interview with a sax player called Michael Brecker (RIP). At the time he was the best jazz sax player in the world – by quite a margin too. And he used to practice 10 hours a day minimum.
The interviewer asked him if he needed to practice that much anymore. His reply was something along the lines of: If I don’t practice I’ll never reach those goals I’ve set for myself. And I’ll always regret it.
Remember the movie Shawshank Redemption – and the get busy living or get busy dying line. That’s an eloquent encapsulation of this idea – to keep learning, keep striving, keep pushing on is growing and living. To settle with what you have is stagnation. Stagnation leads to dying.
That line is something we should ask ourselves each day. Are we gonna grow a bit today…or are we gonna settle for what we already have. It’s a simple choice – get busy living or get busy dying.
Nice one.
Paul
Hey Paul! I’m all about get busy living or get busy dying. Shawshank is one of my favorite movies of all times not only for the story but the message.
If we get stagnant and stop learning, we will feel old. If we keep learning and growing, we’ll feel young.
Thanks for sharing! And yes Beyonce does have a fine ass.
Duhhh….I thought it was JK’s birthday! Happy birthday to Benny!
It’s okay Paul! It’s JK’s birthday every day here cause it’s his blog.
Well said Paul, you always incapsulate thoughts as well as anyone one the web, seriously. That Shawshank quote is the perfect fit.
Marcus
Thank you JK for giving me the chance to write for your readers! It’s a nice birthday present for me for sure!
It’s your birthday today? Man – Happy Birthday to you!
I’m excited to have you hear man. I’m honored.
Sweet Benny, happy b-day boss!!
Hey Benny! Happy Birthday! Hi Jk!
This is a great post! You got me thinking about my second book and my first one isn’t even published yet! I see that what gets one to success is the “addiction” that would keep one moving, don’t you think! It’s the striving the process, the will to do what you want to do that contains the fun. I’ll let you know when I achieve success how much fun that is but I consider myself successful to be able to do what I want to do and THAT’S fun for sure!
I like how Beyonce took a year off to reshape her music! Good for her! I’m not sure I’m a hustler but I love this: “yesterday ended last night.”
Lori
Hey Lori!
I’m glad this post got you thinking! Being able to do what you want to do is a huge success! Many would love to be in those shoes for sure.
I think you’re a hustler for sure because you seem to keep growing and getting better every day. You’re having fun and you don’t want to stop. Keep it up!
Thanks Lori for sharing!
“Don’t be one of those music one-hit wonders from the 80‘s or 90‘s playing their only hit song at a bar of 10 drunken people twenty years from now cause that’s all they’ve got.”
I think some of my favorite bands fit in this category LOL.
Great post, Benny. I’m not a big Beyonce fan, but I do know that she hasn’t got to where she is without serious work and drive. Her success is a very inspirational insert into this post.
I live in the past a little too much sometimes (hey, it’s fun!), but I also look very much forward to the future. It’s a great balance. Nice article!
Hey Joe,
I love some of those one-hit wonder songs too! Who doesn’t love them? LOL. But I enjoy listening to them but don’t want to just live off one success.
I love to think about memories from the past but I still work on my future. Sounds like you have the right mindset as well!
Thanks for sharing Joe!
Hey Benny, Jk – That’s one great piece of work, Love it. You had me drawn in, Factual, Informative and Definitive. Reading this make’s me wan’t to up my Hustle Game.
You done a great job Jk, Benny’s Get talent! This make’s me think, Everyday in every way, I grow stronger and stronger, Raising the bar to new levels of performance – That’s the Hustlers code, Its like a martial art, This is a very inspiring Post.Your letting the world know what it is to be a hustler.
Blessing guy’s
Thanks Lloyd.
It’s all about finding success and then finding the next goal but definitely enjoy the journey. The journey is the part we’ll remember the most. The ups and the downs but feel relieved to be standing on the top
It’s definitely raising the bar! Don’t get complacent!
Thanks for the comment Lloyd.
Benny,
I love this.I think too many people decide to stop working hard when they feel they’ve made it. Then they end up like Screech from Saved by the Bell. Right now I’m in the phase of my whole online journey where things are in complete limbo, but I can’t stop what I’m doing because if I lose momentum now, Ill never get it back. I also think that you have to keep setting a higher bar for yourself. If you don’t then you don’t make progress.
Hey Srini,
Love the Screech reference. I know you’re in complete limbo right now but have no doubt you’ll land on your feet. You are right about not losing that momentum. It’s easier to just keep it going instead of working so hard to get back to this point now.
Setting the bar higher is so key. It’s like lifting weights. You can’t just lift the same weight over and over for months and expect growth. You have to increase your weight to stimulate muscle growth.
Hope you got some waves today!
That’s such a good quote, I’ve never heard it before… Yesterday ended last night…
You’re right on point with this concept. One of my favorite analogies for momentum is what Jim Collins used in his book, Good to Great: A big heavy flywheel that you keep turning. At first, you can barely move it, but if you keep turning it every day, it eventually builds momentum that’s almost impossible to stop. Awesome post, Benny!
Hey Andrew,
I had never heard it before but when I read it, it made so much sense. I love that analogy by Jim Collins. Momentum is so important. It’s hard to get there but once you have it, don’t stop. Keep it going! If you have momentum on your side, you’ll have so many opportunities open up for you.
Thanks for sharing Andrew!
Benny you sound a hustle champion like JK ’cause you’ve got mountain building energy flooding out of every pore here – it’s like Hustlers Paradise!.
What interested me is that Beyonce instinctively knew when to take a break to re-hustle her motivations and direction. To truly hustle with the best of them we need to have some R&R time – moments to React and Respond re-setting the compass, raising the bar and taking aim at higher horizons. That brings more muscle to the hustle!
Hey John!
Hustler’s Paradise sounds like a nice play! Work hard and play hard. Maybe JK can buy an island for us and we can go there for free.
I learned a lot from her in that video. She knew she needed a break to not only recharge but to enjoy life. She traveled as a tourist and loved it. That gave her energy to come back and work so hard on her next album. I believe it truly paid off.
Thanks for your comment John!
Hi Benny,
The joy is really in the journey. Even when we achieve our goals, the celebration only lasts for a little while. Then, we get restless again. So, the focus shouldn’t be on achieving those goals (not mainly anyway) but on growing and expanding every day. If we just do the best we can every day, do a little bit better today than yesterday and don’t forget to have a blast the whole time, the goals will become kind of irrelevant. Oh, and we’ll achieve more than we ever dreamed of.
Happy Birthday Hugs,
Melody
Hey Melody,
Love your name.
I enjoyed your comment. You’re so right that the journey is the best part. Doing a little a day towards improving, learning, and getting closer to our goals. The tortoise always beats the hare. It’s about taking steps everyday and not trying to get there as fast as we can. Enjoy the process.
Thanks for the birthday hug!
WASSUP Jk and my man Benny!?
“Yesterday ended last night.” I love that. It’s so true man, we’ve just got to move on. I never thought of it like that, obviously we have to quickly move on from our failures but just as important is that we move on from our successes as well.
We should look at what we have got and be happy, content and thankful, but the highest achievers continue to aim high and never get complacent.
Working hard is working consistently.
We must love what we have whilst aiming for more.
Awesome post Hustlers! Benny you smashed it again and Jk thanks for featuring this awesome guest post.
Peace
Robert!!! What’s up buddy!!
An entrepreneur that comes to mind that thinks like that is Richard Branson. That guy has his hand in everything. He’s got an island that is ridiculous and could spend all his time there! Instead he’s doing things like getting a commercial space flight operational. I’m sure once that’s running, he’s thinking of where to focus his attention on next.
Never get complacent. I know you won’t.
Thanks Robert!
Benny,
I loved it man. Outstanding job! It is so easy as we accomplish our goals to become complacent with what we have. A hustler stays hungry and constant strives for continued perfection. I found a ton of value in the examples you provided as it gave it a personal touch and inspired me to make some necessary changes. Thanks for the great read.
Hey Frank,
You’re right! A hustler is always hungry. Never stops learning and growing. When we constantly learn, we feel young. Once we stop learning, we feel old. A hustler never stops.
Thanks for your comment Frank!
You had me at “Keeping Momentum: A Hustler Knows Yesterday Ended Last Night.” Superb, sir.
Hey Demian!
Great comment! I’m glad the title drew you in. That’s part me and part JK there.
Thanks Demian!
Hey Florida Benny, John Maxwell’s brother lives here in Lakeland, Fl for what it’s worth.
Great post, once you become satisfied and stop growing you become stagnant and start losing ground. I’m in front line sales and every single day it is ‘what have you sold lately’? That home run you hit two months ago is nice, but what have you done for me lately. That’s just the reality of it………..as soon as you rest on your laurels you become irrelevant.
Good to see you at JK’s, hope all is well.
Good point Bill. I think the profession of ‘selling’ is the ultimate ‘Hustler’ mentality, as home runs for many folks often lead to huge slumps—because they’re so busy taking their slow trot around the bases. It’s tough not to have a little bit of a roller coaster, but it’s for this reason, as you well know, most people ain’t cut out for what you do.
Hey Bill,
I’m doing well! Staying inside. It’s been so hot recently but now I know it’s not only in Florida!
Having this attitude applies to all parts of life but I definitely use it for my blog. That post brought me lots of traffic but I can’t just keep telling people to read that post. Especially to the regular readers.
New vlog I see! I’ll be going over there next to check it out!
Hope you’re doing well too Bill.
Oh yeah….needed to hear this as I am in the process of writing a fiction based novel as we speak. Once I get that momentum…I really don’t have a desire to sleep…Because writing it to me is just like reading it. Gets me going…lol. Do not desire to be a one hit wonder either…so I gotta keep this momentum going…!
Thanks JK
Hey Kenya!
Keep that momentum going. Make it your friend. Resistance is our enemy but seems like you’ve broken though that and are in the process of writing. That’s great!
Good luck with your novel!
Thank you Benny!
I agree with the Beyonce comment. When you do what you love and think on such a large scale, plus YOU work your tail off, then expect things such as those. It about using everyday, putting every ounce of who you are ainto something worth while And I think it’s beyond hustling and more about being consumed by your work to the point of it all that drives YOU!
Thanks Jonathan! That’s why Beyonce is who she is. Not only does she have talent but she works hard to put that great talent to use. It’s living and breathing that passion and giving great value to the world!
Thanks for your comment!
So true Benny. Stay within yourself, be true to yourself, and keep doing what you are doing is more than 99% of the other people who quit when it gets too hard!
Thanks for sharing the inspiration!
Alex
That’s correct Alex! We definitely don’t want to be like them. We want to be in the 1% who never give up.
Thanks for your comment!
Really thought provoking info Benny,
We agree 100%… complacency is a major killer to progress.
We find that networking with like minded people (bloggers) helps to keep you in game mode 24/7.
Like steel sharpens steel… people sharpen people.
You can’t keep company with weak watered-down people… if you’re striving to constantly move forward and keep complacency in a choke hold.
Another key point to fighting complacency is “discipline”.
Success is consistent, disciplined motion towards a predefined object.
Once you’re in motion there has to be order… Motion without order is chaos.
Being disciplined allows us to fight off the chaos of complacency and moves us ever forward to conquer and accomplish bigger and greater goals.
Thanks for not charging us for this “Free” game Benny!
Adrian & Sharla
Live it! Learn it! Share it!
Hey Adrian and Sharla!
I love this line “Like steel sharpens steel… people sharpen people.”
The company we keep is so important. Jim Rohn says we are the average of the five people we spend most of our time with. If we’re spending it around slackers, that’s going to rub off on us!
And being a blogger it’s easy to network and connect with great like-minded and inspirational people, like JK, who will keep you sharp.
Thanks for sharing with everyone here!
I have to focus on the statement that we have to turn the problems into opportunities…That is very inspiring…
Benny! Excellent post, man! Love John C Maxwell! One of my favorite authors. I definitely get what you mean about keeping the momentum going. Sometimes we can reach milestone or small goals and then get comfortable. That’s when we get in trouble. Persistence is a habit we all must ingrain into our work flow because if we don’t we’ll pick-up other habits, like complacency or even quitting.
Hey Hector!
When we start getting complacent is when we stop growing. It’s fun to keep learning and growing every day. Makes life more exciting I think.
Momentum is a huge ally and once we have it, we better do what we can to keep it on our side! If not, resistance will creep in and stop us!
Thanks for your comment Hector!
You just reminded me of a time long ago when I was working every day with some truly inspirational people who had their own signs up on the wall. Now I just hang around with some very inspirational bloggers
Truly, the company you keep can make the difference – keeps us moving higher and higher on the spiral.
Hey Julie! Great to see you here too.
It’s great to hang around inspirational people. They lift you up and motivate you. That’s why who we spend most of our time with is so important. Hang out with the chickens and that’s how we’ll be. Hang out with the eagles and we will soar in the sky.
Thanks for sharing Julie!
Benny, I was doing well until you started talking about Beyonce, and then all the sudden my mind wondered…no idea why
I love this concept of hustling, tenacity, and short memories. For example, my blog post earlier this week did well, really well. Lots of attention….for 48 hours. After that, I’m just little-ol-Marcus again, trying to creep my way up the ladder that is the blogosphere, working my tail off with each new article to earn a new reader, fan, and friend.
You’re a great writer Benny, it’s quite fitting that JK had you come by his house to share.
Cheers,
Marcus
Could it be because cause she’s bootylicious?
I know you definitely don’t get complacent. That’s why you’ve grown an amazing blog. You keep setting the bar higher and higher.
Plus once you get an epic post like that and gain new readers, they expect quality content. If you put out fluff, they will know.
I’m the same way. I celebrate the little successes with that come with a mention or traffic spike from a post but then I’m already thinking what I have to do next.
Thanks for sharing Marcus!
One of the reasons I appreciated Michael Jordan was that he never stopped working on his game. He played hard and worked on his shot, footwork and developed new moves to compensate for the impact of time and age on his game.
If you keep pushing good things happen.
Hey Jack,
Absolutely! There could have a been so many other people to add besides Beyonce. Michael Jordan never got complacent. How do you explain 6 NBA championships? Most guys are happy with one! If he never temporarily retired, he would definitely won more.
Thanks for sharing Jack!
Benny, it’s great to see you at Jk’s house! You certainly provided the goods for us with this post, and offered a lot of thought-provoking words.
I hadn’t given too much thought to the idea of momentum before, but after reading this, I can understand the potential here. I guess it’s the continuous momentum, day after day, that takes you little-by-little to your goals.
Another way of looking at is the “1% wins” – each day, make sure you get a little win, even if it’s a tiny win. Then, these tiny wins stack on top of one another, until you’ve got a mountain of tiny wins behind you! Now that’s improvement!
Jk, thanks for featuring Benny here. I’m wondering, could you get Beyonce to write a guest post for us?
Since I’ve started blogging one valuable lesson I’ve learned is the power of momentum. It’s important in business and in blogging. It’s about slow and steady instead of an all out sprint. It’s the hare vs the tortoise. It’s about being consistent.
Yes! even improving just 1% each day will compound to give you great results for sure!
I think Beyonce will be giving bootylicious dance lessons here on the HN coming soon. JK has the hook up!
Thanks for your comment!
Good advice being given here.
One thing I’d like to add is that a healthy(?) combination of embracing both the “carrot” and the “stick” concept always tends to help people STAY busy trying to achieve their goals.
In the economically precarious times in which we live, it’s incumbent on us to know that yesterday’s success can only be maintained by today’s commitment to fully embrace the mindset and the behaviors that helped us to achieve that success in the first place.
To slow down in order to smell the roses, to enjoy the moment, OR to reevaluate is necessary, but “stop” completely can be potentially dangerous to our forward motion. So this is why it would behoove us to commit to keep moving.
Because, as the cliche says: “Objects in motion tend to stay in motion.”.
Victory Unlimited
You made a great point. We definitely should slow down to smell the roses but not completely stop. Momentum is a great ally and we don’t want it to completely stop.
Thanks for your well thought out comment!
Fabulous, inspiring post Benny! What a privilege to read. So much inspiration and guidance comes from this gem of a blog and I’m so grateful! Funny, but I struggle with celebrating any victory, so I can definitely learn something on both ends.
Interesting you speak of Beyonce as I’ve watched a bit about her and she’s rather amazing on so many levels. “Work ethic” is key here and with that, commitment to do more; to be greater; to excel, etc..
I was just saying to someone yesterday about how I wish I was able to be complacent – life would be easier.
Alas, not even as a child, have I ever known complacency … my heart, my mind are wanderers and always seek. That’s both a blessing and a curse.
Thank you for this wonderful post and I’m so glad to “met” you here because now, I’m headed in your direction.
Happy belated Birthday!
Much kindness,
Elena
Hi Elena,
Thank you so much for the wonderful comment. You had me smiling.
I know what you mean about being taking some time to be complacent. That’s what Beyonce did. She took a year off and traveled like a tourist. I’m sure in her mind she was thinking about her next album but her heart was enjoying the slow pace of life.
It’s just remembering to grow a little every day. To keep learning and get closer to our goals.
I knew Beyonce was talented but didn’t realize how hard she worked till I watched that video. We all could definitely learn a lot from her.
Thank you again for reading and the birthday wishes!
This is really a very inspiring post…I am hoping that you can inspire more people through your blogs…
Hi, Benny.
I think this is the first time for me to comment on your work, but we’ve met a lot of times in the same blogging circles. I missed your birthday, so I’m sending over your way belated birthday greetings.
Your post made me think, Benny and it also made me remember my favorite quote in the first Kung Fu Panda movie. “Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift, that’s why we call it the present.”
I love this quote because I always believe in living for today and not for the past. Sometimes we get so caught up with the past that we are not able to work fully for today and that shouldn’t be. We should always strive to be better and that will only happen if we leave yesterday where it is and focus on making our every today count in a big way.
Hope you had an amazing weekend, Benny.
Hi Kim! Yes I definitely remember your profile picture. Definitely an easy one to remember. Quoting Kung Fu panda? That’s awesome! Sadly I haven’t seen the movie (I know i know!) but that is a great quote.
Too often we do think about what happened in the past and worry about the future while we do forget about today!! Today is what matters. Today is what will shape our tomorrow. Today is the only thing we can control.
I’ll have to rent Kung Fu Panda one day. I’ve heard it’s great and funny.
Thanks for sharing Kim! Have a great weekend!
Success as the great John Maxwell did say is not a destination but a journey. You have to keep at it, even after hitting a major milestone.
One of the ways I keep going ahead is to remind myself that the best form of defense is a consistent strategic offence. Meaning, the best way to remain relevant is to continuously break your own record.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Tito. The best defense is a great offense. That’s a great line to always remember. We all want to be relevant in this life in someways. Otherwise we wouldn’t be reading blogs like JK’s. Instead we would be doing what the lazy person does every single day.
Thanks for sharing your insight Tito!
> Don’t be a one-hit wonder.
Well put. That’s one of the lessons I grew up with … that, and, don’t be a has been who never was … and be YOUR best, so you never wonder what might have been.
Thank you J.D. I like that too “don’t be a has been who never was”. It would be horrible to live life and then look back and wonder what you could have been. I certainly don’t want to feel like that.
Thanks for sharing that J.D.!
Really good post. Having the momentum to always work harder is the best thing that you could do for yourself. You would always want to try and push yourself to higher limits to become a better person within whatever you’re trying to do.
Thanks Justice! Momentum is such a powerful ally. It can take us to unlimited possibilities if we put in the hard work.
Awesome Hustle Post Benny!!!
Great point showing someone like Beyonce, who is worth HUNDREDS of MILLIONS… STILL goes at it..
It just proves… If you make life about: The journey, the challenges, and overcoming everything IN THE MOMENT… Then you will fulfill ALL your dreams…
If you just focus on an END result.. then when it comes, you will feel like SHIT, and that is NOT what you want to get out of a life long hustle…
Surfs up Benny!
Hey Sal!!
I’m glad I ran into that Beyonce video because she was a perfect example of what I wanted to say.
I know you definitely don’t get complacent cause you’re hustling every day!!
Thanks for the reminder Benny, it’s consistency that leads to success. It’s not so difficult to come up with a good idea and imagine some wild plans. The hard part is the execution and not making any compromises. Either you go for it all the way or you don’t.
Thanks for the motivation,
Wim
Thanks for reading Wim. You sound like you understand my message. Others just need a wake up call and hope I gave that to them.
Thanks for sharing with us!
Hi Benny,
That quote “Yesterday ended last night” through me for a loop for a second then I realized I live by that motto. One hit wonder is the perfect way to put it because once one accomplishment is obtained its important to continue in the progression. If that one accomplishment turns in to a long celebration you are likely to get passed by.
That feeling of achieving goals is addictive which is why I try not to sit on my achievments too long. Plus after awhile shoot after a day or only person who cares about that accomplishment is you. There is always someone BIGGER BADDER AND BETTER. I want to be that person to someone and that right there keeps me on my toes…..guess that’s part of what makes me a hustler
Thanks for sharing this!
Chelsea!
You definitely are on the right track. You’re so right that there is someone bigger and badder waiting to top you!
Patting ourselves on the back too long won’t get us to the next goal.
Thanks for sharing Chelsea. I would say keep hustling but I know you already are!
Hi Benny- What a treat to read your post on Jk’s blog! As I was reading your post I thinking who would be the contrast Beyonce. Who would be the opposite of offering their talent as a service of entertainment and the empowerment of women… and the opposite of non-stop movement?
I came up with Jabba the Hutt.
Here is a creature that apparently had loads of money and yet, did nothing but sit around all day and eat and apparently forced women to wear demeaning outfits just to entertain him.
I bet if we look around we can find a Jabba or two. Perhaps there are times, we act like a Jabba apprentice by not working hard for what it is that we want and expecting it to be handed to us on a silver platter.
Here’s another post that advocates for the hustle life!
Jabba the Hutt. I love it!! The is a great example of the opposite of Beyonce.
We can find some Jabbas in our lives. If we know too many, then we really need to get out of that circle of friends and into a new one.
Yes and keep hustling in life! Thanks Ajen!
I agree that degree really matters most but for me, I really don’t need it as long as I love the field where I am right now and if you love what you are doing, you will be very successful then…
Awesome article. I watched that Beyonce documentary and it did to inspire me. I never really understood here until watching that and realized how driven she really is. I used that as motivation to keeping going harder and farther. Thank you for this great post.
I agree that Beyonce is really a model for all of us…
“Yesterday ended last night.”, this message really is so simple but it carries an important message.
Thank you Benny! Thanks for sharing with us!
