How to Get to and Maintain a Higher Level of Motivation

With such treacherous terrains to maneuver through in life, we have to stay fueled from the right source in order to maintain a balance of motivation. And just as every car manufacturer recommends a certain grade of octane in order to properly power an engine; we have to properly power our motivational level with the right type of fuel. If the recommendation is premium grade, but a lower quality is used overtime, the engine will eventually breakdown. Fuel for motivation works the same way.

The Motivation for this Article

In recent weeks I’ve received a number of emails asking me for tips on maintaining a high level motivated. I find this question challenging to answer because I believe our motivation is driven by personal factors; what is important to me may not be important to someone else.

Who Needs a MBA (or any Degree) When You Have Hustle?

Thumbnail image for Who Needs a MBA (or any Degree) When You Have Hustle?

This post isn’t just about MBAs (master of business administration), it’s about higher education in general. Some folks don’t have access to it; it’s expensive, exclusive and the American system isn’t built for everyone to have the opportunity. It’s my hope that after this post, the attitude around what a degree means changes in relation to one’s success, specifically for those who don’t have one…because I don’t think anyone needs an MBA (or any degree) if they have hustle.

I used to think that the more advanced the degree, the better job, and naturally, the better the pay. The reason my attitude has changed is because over the past few years, many of my colleagues have had MBA’s…and I don’t have one. So not only do I play at the same park, I’ve done so without the same credential…

This is a GUEST POST brought to you by Benny Hsu from GetBusyLivingBlog.com.

Whether it’s landing a big client, writing your first novel, getting that promotion, landing a sponsorship, hitting website traffic goals, or running a marathon; we have some big hairy audacious goals

Please Don’t Believe the Hype…LOOKS REALLY DO MATTER

Thumbnail image for Please Don’t Believe the Hype…LOOKS REALLY DO MATTER

I’m the type of person who’d like to live in a world where looks don’t matter. But, like you, I live in a world where looks do in fact matter. As I shared in my post about hate, I’ve had a pretty telling example of just how much looks can play into the way others engage with you. But today we’re going to focus on the perceptions we create by the way we present ourselves.

This isn’t a feel good topic…it’s seemingly a bit shallow actually. But should that detour us from speaking about it? NOPE! Sometimes we have to have tough conversations in order to fully hash things out.

I’m counting on community contribution to help drive the point that looks really do matter, or the contrary if you believe otherwise. Either way, please share your run down as to why you feel the way you do.

The Hustle Factory: A Place to Manufacture All the Luck You’d Ever Want

Thumbnail image for The Hustle Factory: A Place to Manufacture All the Luck You’d Ever Want

The hustle factory is a mindset. It’s an action-based ideology that takes the popular idea of luck, and removes its association with chance. In replacement, it defines luck as a result from deliberate action (or set of actions).

The Discovery of the Hustle Factory

I used to sit back and wait for things to happen. After a while of getting very little results, I changed my seated position to observe others who seemed to have luck working in their favor. It didn’t take long to realize that those who were getting all the luck were coincidentally the ones who were actively working towards what they wanted luck for. All of these people worked in a factory…
